Golf Swing Fundamentals
There are six fundamentals in the golf swing:
- Grip:
How you hold the club.
- Posture:
How you set up to the ball. This is key to a successful golf swing. It includes:
- Width of stance.
- Knee flex.
- Straightening of the back.
- Bending from the hip socket.
- The angle the back maintains throughout the swing.
- Pivot:
How you move your body from your head to your toes (excluding your hands and arms).
- The hand and arm relationship:
What the hands and arms do in the golf swing.
- Alignment:
How you pick and set up to your target.
- The mental side:
The ability to play without thinking about it.
There are five physical fundamentals and
one mental fundamental.
