An American Bald Eagle at Purgatory Golf Club

By: purgatorygolf on April 12th, 2013

We had a regal visitor on Wednesday. Superintendent James Brown came in to get me, “There’s a bald eagle!” I grabbed my camera and out we went. It was a grey, wet day, but a bunch of us were out on the course trying to get a look at the eagle. It was magnificent, and I’ll take it as a sign of good things to come. Hope you like the images.

Our friendly Egyptian Grey Goose

This Egyptian Grey Goose has taken residence at Purgatory. He appears to be comfortable around our staff and guests. We called the Indianapolis Zoo to find out the name of his breed, and his origin which is apparently Madagascar. Seems like a disconnect, but who are we to question the naming traditions of wildlife. This photo was taken by junior golfer Clay  Merchent, thank you Clay for capturing this image!
