PGA’s Best Public Courses in Indiana

By: Tenna Merchent on January 1st, 2013

The PGA website has posted the Best Public Courses in Indiana on their website with Purgatory Golf Club ranking towards the top at #2, I guess we try harder 🙂

This is what they said about PurgatoryGC:

“Here’s what the Indianapolis Business Journal had to say about Purgatory: “an enchanting design, gleaned from the inspirations of legendary architects Alistair MacKenzie, George Thomas, Seth Raynor and Indiana’s own Bill Diddle… it’s more beauty than beast. The greens are firm and fast, but fair. A well-struck putt is rewarded. The fairways, which I strolled across during my forays into the bunkers and rough, were exceptional.”

Facebook fan quotes:

“Purgatory in Noblesville.” — Tyler Corder

“Hands down would be PURGATORY in Noblesville, Ind.” — Julie King

“Purgatory.” — Garron Anglemyer

“Purgatory.” — Matt Evans”

There are certainly a lot of fine courses in Indiana, or just Hamilton County itself. I found my round of golf at Purgatory in 2010 was everything I hoped it would be. But in addition to the course, the practice facilities are as good as they come.
